Network Manager Nichola Cullen
Nichola has 15 years HSC experience at Trust, Public Health Agency and Health & Social Care Board. Nichola represents CCaNNI at the National Directors Network to ensure that CCaNNI avails of and contributes to the wider national and international critical care developments. Nichola has contributed to regional and national quality improvement programmes for various regional and national developments. She utilises these experiences, skills and networks to ensure that CCaNNI members can collaboratively contribute to providing required critical care services and the critical care workforce and resources are supported on a regional level.
Network Support Officer Geraldine Brennan
Geraldine has worked with CCaNNI since 2010, after twenty years service with Belfast Trust. Geraldine maintains all necessary engagement, development and support functionality of the network. She is the main point of contact for members and provides necessary direction to all stakeholders, both local and national. This provides essential support to ensure that network business and representation is completed and reflective accurately to all.
Lead Clinician Dr Andrew Ferguson
Dr Ferguson has been a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine since 2000 and has previously worked in Antrim and Craigavon hospitals as well as in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is currently a Consultant in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. Dr Ferguson has particular interests in patient needs after intensive care and critical care service development. He has been Lead Clinician for CCaNNI since the end of February 2020.
Lead Nurse Sheila Kinoulty
Sheila qualified as a nurse from Craigavon Area Hospital, many years ago. In her early career she worked in Perioperative Care as an Anaesthetic nurse, and then in Critical Care as a staff nurse and Sister. For the last 15 years her role has been as a Clinical Educator and Ward Sister in Antrim Intensive Care Unit. Sheila has been involved in CCaNNI since its inception, over a decade ago and has chaired the CCaNNI Education Group, leading on the implementation of the National Critical Care Educational Standards and Competencies in NI. She is an active member of the Critical Care National Network Nurse Leads Forum (CC3N). She was appointed as CCaNNI Lead Nurse in February 2018 and has worked collaboratively with the Critical Care Lead Nurses and Educators to promote safe, high quality, compassionate, person-centred care for all Critical Care patient’s in NI.
